The astonishing empowerment of personal responsibility

We don’t realize what we’re missing out on when we do not take responsibility for ourselves. We avoid our discomfort, we don’t want to look at our selfish behavior. The cost? We struggle with boundaries, we can’t see others clearly, we end up blindsided, betrayed and abandoned. Because we have not yet learned how to love.

What’s the biggest secret on earth? When you learn to love, no one can fake you out. When you’re the most authentic person in the room, you see through everyone else like water. There’s no effort, there’s no negotiation. It’s obvious, like gravity.

Mimickry has a major limitation. You can only copy what you understand. And if you do an empty imitation for someone with the real substance, it might not be obvious to you, but it will be to them.
